Channa Mereya Meaning in Englsih

Channa is nothing but the moon, called chaand or chanda in Hindustani and often channa/chan in a Punjabi accent and Punjabi language. Thus, channa mereya is nothing but 'my moon' which is used for one's beloved.

Btw, we saw that Dharma's official Twitter account said Channa Mereya means 'light of my soul' which is a very nice poetic meaning. Of course channa, that is moon, is symbol of light, and mereya is mine, that could well be my soul. Hence the meaning.
